American Hotel

1 Queen Street S, Kitchener, formerly the American Hotel, was named a recipient of the Mike and Pat Wagner Heritage Award for Rehabilitation/Adaptive Reuse during the City of Kitchener’s Great Places Awards 2023!  This project, led by JG Group and designed by the team at NEO Architecture, included repairs to masonry, improvements to structural integrity, and additions to modernize the building such as adding an elevator.  The exterior was finished with appropriate materials to the style of building, including the trim and decorative molding.  Today, it continues to home commercial tenants, and remains Kitchener’s oldest commercial building!  Check out more details here.
